Meeting Customers Where They Are: Three Predictions for a Resilient 2027
By , • 5 minute read
It starts with meeting our customers where they are
In every recent conversation with treasurers, banks and providers, one theme kept surfacing: resilience.
For Caleb Tyndall, VP of Customer Service at PrimeRevenue, it was the undercurrent of the discussions at every event. Whether the topic was treasury management, supply chains or trade, the focus was the same. How do you stay resilient when the ground keeps shifting?
The answer, he says, is agility. The biggest challenge facing the industry today is meeting the market, the customers and their supply chains where they are today and where they are headed not where they were a year ago. It’s also where everyone is focusing their time and energy.
“The ability to meet the market, the customers, the problems and the supply chains where they are today seems to be the biggest challenge facing the industry.” – Caleb Tyndall, VP of Customer Service, PrimeRevenue
Being future-proof is in our DNA
For PrimeRevenue, resilience isn’t a new message. It’s been part of our identity for years, and it came to the fore when we supported customers through COVID.
Since then, the focus on resilience hasn’t eased. If anything, it has become more important in every customer conversation. This is why our customer teams spend their time on two things: understanding the problems customers face right now and helping them keep the working capital levers they need right within reach.
The logic is simple. Cash gives businesses the room to stay resilient and agile. We heard this message echoed at a working capital forum, where data signaled that cash position is the number one indicator of resilience, measured by stock price volatility in times of uncertainty.
“Being able to plug and play cash and being able to pull levers that generate cash and stay off balance sheet keeps you resilient, suppliers need the same.” — Caleb Tyndall
For customers, that means a program that works as a ready lever, not a fixed structure. When conditions change, they can generate cash quite quickly, without adding debt, while keeping on the move.
Three predictions for 2027
His predictions for next year:
- AI becomes foundational. AI will stop being something the industry looks forward to and become something everyone has already done. It will be built into the culture of treasury, supply chain finance and trade. The conversation will shift from an impatient “just do it”, to doing it differently and better.
- Solutions shaped around specific needs. Agility will mean putting together the right solution for each customer’s situation. That could be new structuring, more flexible technology or a different approach to a problem. The goal is the same: helping customers keep moving forward, whatever happens with markets or regulation.
- Disruption keeps ramping up. Caleb doesn’t expect things to settle in the next 12 months. Resilience will still be the topic, and many will be struck by just how persistent the disruption has become.
What this means for our customers
If disruption is here to stay, resilience can’t be a one-off project. It must be built into how your working capital program runs, how you strengthen your supply chain, and how your partners support you.
As you plan for 2027, it’s worth asking:
- Can your program flex when your needs change? A resilient program adapts to new structures, markets and funding conditions without starting over.
- Do you have cash levers ready to pull? The best time to secure working capital options is before you need them.
- Does your provider meet you where you are? Resilience is a partnership. Look for a team that understands your business today, is willing to innovate, and helps you solve tomorrow’s problems.
Resilience isn’t a reaction. It’s how you’re set up. Caleb is confident enough in his 2027 predictions to invite a scorecard, so check back this time next year to see how many he got right.
